What's Going With My (No Life) Fairground - v3.0

Hi all,

I've started to join some things called "cliques". They are not webrings, they are like a listing of sites dedicated to a theme of some sort. Actually I've only signed up for one, but I'm a little reluctant to sign up for more. It's not that I don't want to, it's probably the thought of being rejected from them. My site is pretty different from the members of the cliques that I've surfed through. Don't get me wrong, I love my site. Besides my offline work, that's really what I spend my free time on. Whenever I tried to join some webrings in the past, most of them I was accepted to, but there were a few that I never heard from. At least they should e-mail you saying your site didn't fit their criteria or whatever.

I know I shouldn't worry about fitting in to someone else's style. I know I should be proud that I am different. It's hard sometimes. Most of my life I felt alienated and different from everyone else. Even though I like the new store I work at, I still feel different from all the other girls working there. Some of them are very nice, but I always have this fear if I get too close to someone, they will eventually reject me. Luckily I have my man now, so I shouldn't have to worry so much because he accepts me for who I am. Not too many people out there like that, you know. But it's always been that way when it comes to making friends. I try to be positive, though. Who knows, maybe if one clique doesn't accept me, another one will. I just have to keep the faith.

Alan's going to be working on Thanksgiving :-( so I will be spending it with my mom. I don't mind spending it with her, actually, it will be the last one for a while since she is moving to El Salvador. Alan is feeling much better now, but he works so hard everyday since he has two jobs. I'm tired too, but when the rush starts the day after Thanksgiving, I know I'm not going to get much rest then. That's why in January I'm taking my vacation. It will definitely slow down at work by then and it will give me a week to recuperate from the holidays.

There's not much else going on. Maybe I should start my own clique, there's an idea! I would accept (almost) anybody - as long as you have a good site with original content and the usual no porn, no hate, no racism rules, then you're in! I'm gonna think about it. :-)

Today I opened this morning, but instead of working in Accessories, I worked in Fashion Jewelry, which I prefer. A lot of people think it's boring, and it can be, but as long as I'm doing something like cleaning, straightening, or filling in merchandise, then the time goes by fast. It's better than working in Lingerie. I really don't like it there, having to learn where all the zillions of bras go, what type of bra goes with what kind of lady, learning to fit people, checking the fitting rooms - no way! Handbags, accessories, and jewelry is enough for me!

You probably wonder why I have so many quizzes on the side. It's partly to fill up space, and also, it gives you an insight to my personality - LOL! They're really a lot of fun when you're on the Net with nothing else to do. I really like the Weather Pixie - that would look like me if I had short hair again and if it was brown (my hair is jet black). It monitors the weather from Ontario, my old 'Hood. Last Saturday when it was raining she had an umbrella, it was so cute! Sometimes she has a dog or cat with her. I've seen her on other people's blogs too, that's where I got her from. But my Weather Pixie's the best! :-p

On Tuesday we went to Claremont again. We had lunch at the Village Grille, which is set up like an old 50's diner. Then we went to the bookstore where Alan bought two rare hardback books, "Tropic of Capricorn" by Henry Miller and "Midnight Cowboy", which later became a movie with Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight. After that I went to, where else, Rhino Records, and Alan went to Video Paradiso next door. It was one of those days where I didn't find very much. I did manage to search the bargain bins and buy a copy of Des'ree's debut album from back in the day called I Ain't Movin', new mixes of Information Society's "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)", and New Order's Substance video compilation. Alan bought a copy of "Behind The Sun", an independent Brazilian film that we saw a few months ago. If you ever find it in your local video store, you have to rent it. It has subtitles and has a very entertaining, but sad story. Anyway, the weather was gorgeous out there and it was so much fun to be out in my old stomping grounds again. Unfortunately, the next day Al got some kind of stomach virus. I have been nursing him back to health. :-) He's a little bit better but has some aches and chills. Let's hope he gets better soon!

If you've been to my site before, you know that I like to change my site a lot. I made the original layout of this page myself, but looking around at all the new, modern looking sites people had for their blogs kind of made me want to change this one. I tried in vain to create a CSS style sheet and use the original graphics I had made, but it just didn't look right, so I found a very cute Japanese anime template to use here. So, I hope you like the new look! :-) I like some of the anime art, but some of it just too bizarre, you know? But some of it is really cute and pretty.

I have started in the new store and I like it a lot better. Last Saturday for "The Biggest Sale of Them All" they served hamburgers and hot dogs all day - yummy! They also had pizza that night as well, so I have 5-10 extra pounds to prove it - LOL!

A lot of the customers seem nicer, although there was this one lady who was unpleasant. She wanted to exchange a clock, but we thought she wanted to buy it, so we told her she had to go downstairs. But we got confused and after we found out she just wanted to do an even exchange, she went to go get the old clock from her car and she said to us, "If I weren't a Christian, I'd be really p***ed off right now." Rita and I were like, "What the heck does that have to do with anything?" Then she asked what religion I was. I really wanted to tell her it was none of her damn business, but since this is customer service and you have to be nice, I told her I was Catholic. I said it was practically the same thing as Christian, and she snapped, "No, it's not." Geez, lady! Did God tell you whom to judge or whom not to judge?

After they left, Rita and I were talking about how we Catholics are Christians because we believe in Jesus too. I can't stand people who get up in everybody's business about their religion. People can believe whatever they want, as long as they keep it their business and try not to shove their beliefs down somebody's throat. I once went out with a guy who was like that. We spent about an hour arguing about religion - it totally wasn't worth it. (But I have a good man now, so it turned out for the best!) I hope I haven't offended anyone, but that's my rant for today...anyway! Other than that, it's all good!
