Links For The Privileged
Midi playing is "Breakout" by Swing Out Sister
Hello! Welcome to the links page! I just updated it after a long time because I checked out some of my favorite sites and realized they are now gone. I will be adding some new links as my time allows. Thanks!!!
(Please be patient while the images load. Thanks again!)
Music Links
Swing Out Sister - The now official homepage of the cool British jazz/pop duo. Their new album "Somewhere Deep In The Night" should be coming soon to America - hopefully!
Art of Noise Archives - One of the quintessential New Wave pop groups of the 80s. What other group could make music out of ringing telephones, slamming doors, hysterical screaming, and Max Headroom (???).
Scritti Crush Connection - The fan club site for the 80s band most famous for their hit "Perfect Way". They just released a hip-hop/rap/pop album in 1999, Anomie & Bonhomie. They are considered a kind of cult band nowadays.
New Order Online - An excellent New Order site: News, pictures, bios, multimedia, interviews, lots more. One of the greatest English 80s synth bands ever.
One Hundred Percent Melanie C - The unofficial site of my favorite Spice Girl, Melanie Chisholm. Chris (the webmaster) has done an excellent job maintaining the site since 1997. Still the best Melanie C site on the Net!
Northern Star - Melanie's official site promoting her solo album of the same name. Great pics, current news, interviews, and a lot more from my favorite Spice!!! Soon there will be a second album in the works. Can't wait!
Q Productions - The official site dedicated to the late Tejano singer, Selena. There are also links to her memorial foundation and boutique. A beautiful young lady whose memory will live forever.
The Official Paul Weller Site - An excellent site for Weller info. Needless to say, I discontinued my PW site because for almost three years I was disappointed - not by Weller - but for personal reasons. Long story. Anyway, learn more about the little-known in the States, but very talented frontman of The Jam and The Style Council. Weller is the MOD GOD!!!
Actors, Actresses, TV Shows,
and Movie Links
The Jennifer Connelly Center - You might remember her performances from such films as The Rocketeer, Higher Learning, Labyrinth, Career Opportunities, Dark City, Mullholland Falls, Inventing The Abbotts (which was terrible - don't waste your money on it), and various other movies. She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in A Beautiful Mind. But her early films are really what I liked her best in, especially Labryrinth, Career Opportunities, and The Rocketeer.
The Full Monty & Mark Addy - The hilarious comedy about six working-class Englishmen who become strippers! A modern comedy classic.
The Unofficial Free Truman Site - The official site is gone, but this one about the Jim Carrey movie The Truman Show is still going. Highly recommended!
Miscellaneous Media Links
Spin The Bottle - The company that produces VH1's Pop-Up Video.
California Links
Here is the official website of my old hometown of Ontario, California. (Now with a cool new look!!!) Unfortunately, the only picture I could find was of there Ontario Mills Mall. I used to think it was "crap", but since going there several times, it's grown on me! Anyway, find out a little history about it and what's been going on there since my untimely departure. (*sniff...cry*)
You may have seen similar things like this done in other cities across the US, but in LA there is a unique project called "A Community of Angels" where artists painted unique statues of angels. They were on display all over the Los Angeles area. They are absolutely gorgeous. The project is sponsored by several local charities.
